WIFI AND WIRELESS
To many of us, connecting to the internet by wireless is an almost magical capability but there is a general lack of understanding on how this comes to pass and what some of the limitations are. Our speaker George McKinney is well known in the Oakmont community for his extensive breadth of knowledge of technology and his ability to make sometimes complex systems easily understandable. If you wish to increase your understanding of WiFi and Wireless computing, come to the meeting.

Our Next Question & Answer Session
Q&A Session for February 13, 2012
Our next Q&A session will occur Monday, February 13, 2012, at 2:45 PM at the West Recreational Center following the board meeting. To help us prepare well-researched answers to you questions, please e-mail them to Gordon Ramsey several days before the meeting. Members bring questions or problems they are experiencing and using the club's laptop computer, the projector and very large screen, the item is discussed and almost always resolved. We will accept additional questions at the meeting. If you would like to submit a question at the Q&A session using a printed pdf form click here: Q&A Form. If needed, these forms are available at each session to use to submit your questions.

December 2011 OPCUG Newsletter is our most recent edition! If you are a member and didn't get your newsletter (or if the content was garbled), please send an e-mail to Krystine Boehme, so she can see about correcting the problem. Meeting Times
The club meets the Second and Third Monday of each month in the Western Recreation Center. The Second Monday is the Board Meeting at 1:30 followed by the "Q&A Session" at 2:45 for the full membership, every month except December. The Third Monday is the General Meeting at 2:00. A presentation is given on various computer associated subjects. General meetings are omitted in June, July, August, and December.

Click here to open the OPCUG Application Form. Fill in the blanks and print a copy. The form together with your check for $10 can be sent as shown at the bottom of the form, or placed in the OPCUG folder in the Oakmont Association Office, or you can hand it in at the entrance at a General Meeting.
